X-rays are performed on a limited basis within our diagnostic testing center in NYC. The use of X-rays is crucial to the care during treatment. X-rays help make sense of instability. It shows the bony abnormalities that may be present due to any degenerative changes. Often times, X-rays are used to rule out or discover the presence of arthritis, fractures or trauma occurring due to injury.
Electromyography (EMG) a nerve conductive test that examines the sensory nerves and muscles. In order to evaluate a patients’ nerve response, this is performed within our facility. For an overall diagnosis, it is vital to rule out any neurological problems and to make sure that motor strength and reflexes are conducting well. It often reveals any possible nerve damage or pinched nerves that a patient may be suffering from.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is performed outside of our facility. At times, the doctor may recommend receiving one to show all the smaller tissues and anatomical structures in each patient. It is most commonly used to reveal a disc bulge or a herniated disc. MaxWell Medical DIagnostic Testing Center has the capability of recommending the exam, as well as, evaluating the results so that you can get the best treatment possible.
Range-Of-Motion (ROM) & Muscle (MUS) Testing is critical diagnostic tools for myofascial pain, headaches, sore shoulders and other conditions. Used in conjunction with muscle pain charts, ROM & MUS testing allows our therapists to distinguish overlapping pain patterns, compare levels of function prior to care, identify limitations and based on reassessment, graph improvements.
