Covid 19 Information

Updates & information regarding COVID-19

Thank you for your continued trust in our practice. You may rest assured that we have taken every precaution necessary to limit the transmission of any communicable disease in our office and have increased our level of protection since the outbreak of COVID-19, a.k.a. “Coronavirus”, as per the guidelines established by the CDC and Department of Health.

WE ARE OFFICIALLY OPEN!

We have taken steps to maximize the safety of our patients and employees, in accordance with CDC guidelines, while still providing effective care that our patients have come to expect and deserve.

To schedule your appointment and ensure your desired time please call (212) 776-9355 or email maxwell@mwm.test.

We have adjusted our hours of operation and limited our schedule to ensure minimal interaction within the office space to reinforce proper social distancing protocols. To accommodate our patients we are extending our hours from 8am to 8pm including Saturdays & Sundays.

We are all in this together, and we are committed to providing you the best possible care during these uncertain times

If you are still unable to come in, we offer telehealth services. These services include suggestions on how to reduce pain and inflammation, as well as provide tips for correct at home workstation ergonomics, exercise and stretches to prevent injuries and flare-ups as many of you continue working from home.

How is MaxWell Medical preparing for COVID-19?

We continue to monitor new information about COVID-19, and we are adapting our care practices to reflect the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (“CDC”), Department of Health (“DOH”), and other overseeing regulatory bodies.

Have additional safety measures been implemented?

We’ve implemented a COVID-19 specific protocol. This protocol includes equipment disinfection, rearranged waiting rooms to allow for greater social distancing, thorough surface cleaning and exam room sanitizing between patients. Front desk personnel will complete check-in procedures prior to you coming in to limit contact and the number of people in the waiting area. Our teams are provided personal protective equipment (PPE). When patients enter the office, we ask that you utilize a mask and gloves as well as cleaning your hands using the provided hand sanitizing station. If you do not have a mask, we can provide one for you. You’ll be asked to wear a mask at all times when in the office. There are also social distancing markers to reinforce these guidelines.

Are you pre-screening patients?

The safety of our patients and staff is our number one priority. Patients will be properly assessed for COVID-19 risks (via phone or in person) prior to being allowed into the office. Patients will have their temperatures measured and will be required to answer additional Covid-19 specific questions.

Have there been changes to the operating hours?

At this time, the practice has structured a limited patient schedule to ensure minimal public interaction within the office space to reinforce proper social distancing protocols. We want to assure our patients that we value their safety and are observing heightened precautions throughout this time. To accommodate our patients we will be seeing patients Monday through Friday, 8am to 8pm including weekends.

What are the guidelines for office visits?

To help you prepare for your appointment, please keep the following in mind:

  • Patients should arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time to answer pre-screening questions. (Late appointment arrivals may result in delayed start time to ensure everyone’s safety)
  • Only the patient on the schedule is allowed in the office.

Are you still offering trigger point injections?

Trigger point therapy will continue in the office. All safety guidelines will be reinforced throughout your visit for all services.

How soon can I book an appointment?

MAXWELL MEDICAL IS NOW BOOKING IN-OFFICE APPOINTMENTS. All 5 Manhattan locations will be open starting Monday, May 18th. We would be glad to book your appointment right now prior to opening to ensure your desired time is available. In many cases, we can schedule you for the same day you call for an appointment. Our goal is to schedule your appointment at the best possible time for you.

What if I am unable to keep my appointment?

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call our office at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled time. If you do not, you will be billed for a missed appointment fee of $50. We are happy to reschedule your appointment at any time.

Are you still offering virtual visits?

Yes, MaxWell Medical will still be offering virtual visits for those patients who do not feel comfortable coming into our facilities. Our doctors will be able to discuss your symptoms and determine the most effective treatment plan for you; including recommendations for posture assessments, ergonomic evaluations and creating custom exercise programs to alleviate your pain or discomfort. It is ideal to receive treatment in the office when possible.

Here is Guidance from the CDC on Staying Healthy:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly and use alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Stay home when you’re sick and encourage family to do the same.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, throw the tissue in the trash and immediately wash your hands. No tissue? Cough or sneeze into your elbow, not your hands.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
